Recognising 70 years of the world's leading environmental and energy research non-profit, through three special issues of their magazine, Resources.

In 2022, Resources for the Future (RFF) turned 70. To mark this impressive milestone, each of the three issues of Resources magazine published that year offered the chance to reflect on a different aspect of the organisation. I've worked on Resources for four years now, since first redesigning the magazine at the end of 2019, so it was wonderful to be able to play a role in helping RFF celebrate this moment.

The first issue focused on legacy, and looked back at some of the amazing research they've embarked on over those seven decades. The team at RFF delved into the archives and chose a selection of previous articles and ideas, which were printed alongside introductions from the current team as well as some contemporary commentary.

The second issue focussed on the people of RFF. The many scholars, staff, supporters, and affiliated colleagues of RFF are all integral to the important work and research of the organization. In this issue some new researchers introduced themselves, some senior researchers gave updates on their work, and lots of the RFF team shared what a typical day of work is like for them.

The third and final issue looked to the future, and included articles that set out plans for how the world can transition towards net-zero across different sectors, alongside a vision of what the years ahead look like for RFF, as they focus on two priorities: designing smart emissions-reduction strategies and confronting risks while building resilience.

As with every issue of Resources magazine, I created the layouts as well as contributing a number of infographics and illustrations. I also commissioned and art directed an incredible selection of illustrators for these issues, including Myriam Wares, who created a beautifully detailed cover illustration which forms a triptych split across all three issues.
